Comprehensive Behavioral Care (CompCare) is the Behavioral Health Organization chosen
to provide mental health and substance services to Universal Health Care members.
CompCare has provided mental health and substance abuse services to members throughout
the state of Florida for over a decade. CompCare holds full Accreditation with NCQA.
Continuity of care is vital to CompCare and Primary Care Physicians (PCP) play a
crucial role in this process. To increase the coordination of care between Behavioral
Health Practitioners and Medical Practitioners, we fax the member’s treatment record
to the PCP, with the member’s signed consent, to inform the PCP of the member’s
prescribed medications and treatment issues. When a member requires hospitalization
due to a mental health or substance abuse disorder, CompCare’s Case Managers notify
the PCP of the member’s hospitalization via letter. CompCare informs the PCP of
the member’s admitting diagnosis and provides information regarding how to contact
the member’s attending psychiatrist as well as the member’s assigned Case Manager,
a licensed Clinician, who can assist the PCP by providing valuable clinical information.
CompCare recognizes there are times when the PCP requires direct assistance in accessing
members’ mental health and substance abuse benefits and services. CompCare Case
Managers are available to assist PCP’s with coordinating appropriate care for members.
CompCare Case Managers may be reached by calling: FL Medicare 877-261-2154; FL Medicaid
877-261-2151; TX Medicare 877-261-2153. Please ask to speak directly with a Case

services.
